UCP Tracers is a family owned business founded by Mr. and Mrs. Hall, the company was first established as American Research Services, Inc. but later changed its name to UCP Tracers, Inc. After being in the unclaimed asset industry for over a decade, they have recovered millions of dollars in unclaimed assets for clients all over the world.
Mr. Hall was first inspired by the business idea of reuniting owners with unclaimed funds after helping his father in his office who is a family law and probate attorney. His father would receive letters on occasion from asset recovery firms referring to outstanding assets belonging to an estate or trust that he was representing. This seemed like an odd business at first but after a conversation with one of the firms and successful recovery was made to one of his clients, it became very interesting how such a large sum of money had been overlooked and never included in the estate. It seemed quite common that an asset would be overlooked and appear years after a probate had already distributed and closed.
The asset recovery business had always piqued Mr. Hall’s interest and while going to school and looking for a part time job he accepted a data entry position that he soon came to realize was for an asset recovery firm needing help in their office. This opened up a whole new doorway of how the unclaimed asset business worked and he soon decided to devote himself full-time and learn as much as possible. Since then, he has had the opportunity to work for a couple of companies; one of the firms focused on assets left out of estates or trusts to locate its rightful claimants; another firm focused on assets that were already included in an estate through a probate proceeding but had either missing or unknown heirs that needed to be found in order for the estate to be distributed.
After meeting his wife who already had experience in genealogy, they decided to start their own company. They have ever since expanded their company and developed close business relationships with transfer agents, financial institutions, and other holders of unclaimed funds to identify dormant and unclaimed accounts. They have established a nationwide network with experienced attorneys, genealogists, courts and government entities to allow them to quickly piece together and corroborate claimants entitlements.
